At 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2006, the ashes of Edward Griebenow were buried on the lot with his parents, Verda P. Griebenow and August F. Griebenow, in Section B, Row 18, Lot 5 of the Augusta Cemetery.  Mr. Griebenow was 68 years old.

 

Sunday, January 22, 2006, Gaye Rose Leatherberry and her husband, James William Savory, visited Bette Ina Brown.  Gaye is the daughter of Dean Joseph Leatherberry and Josephine Courtheyn Leatherberry.  Before his death in 1981, Dean did extensive research on the Leatherberrys.  He also has information on the Courtheyns and his mother's family, the Witherspoons.  For more detailed information on Gaye's family relationships, check Residents and go to the site of Dean and Josephine.  Gaye and her sister, Joyce Handwork, have entrusted their father's research with Bette for use with this web site.  It was wonderful to meet Gaye and Jim.
