December 7th:
Even though there hasn't been a lot of new additions posted
in the Latest Updates recently, there is still a lot of work being
accomplished. Bette Brown and Pat McArtor continue to gather
information on Augusta Cemetery Residents. That information is
being posted on our online genealogy program,
PhpGedView.
When you enter
PhpGedView notice down the page there is a box to the right
called, "Recent Changes -- Changes made within the last 30
days." You can click on the names in that list to see
what new information has been added (and there is a lot of
new information continuously being posted).
Now as far as what is being done on this portion of the
website -- as new information is gathered on Residents, we find more
connections to other Residents and that information is being posted
on Residents' individual pages. Sometimes we find we have
posted the wrong information, so all in all, there is quite a bit of
information being added, and corrected, on individual pages without
it being posted here in the Latest Updates.
There is other work going on behind the scenes. We are
going through the cemetery records and finding Residents whose
graves are not marked. Those Residents are being added to the
list without noting it here in the Latest Updates. However,
once a page is created for a Resident who is unmarked, it will
appear here in the Latest Updates.
Bottom Line -- If you are checking the Latest Updates on a
regular basis and think nothing new is happening, check out
PhpGedView where you will find a wealth of information
continuously being posted.
